Nursing Degree – Do You Have What It Takes?

Nurses play an integral role in the healthcare field, providing patients with critical care and assisting doctors and physicians in all types of medical procedures. Nursing is a profession that requires great heart, deep compassion, and a high level of commitment. As a nurse, you will assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. Your responsibilities may include administering medications, monitoring patient recovery and progress, and educating patients and their families on disease prevention and post-procedure treatment.

This is a great industry to get into but it takes a special person with a basic ability and a solid commitment; are you ready for the challenge?

Where Will I Be Able to Work?
As a graduate, you will be prepared for entry-level employment as a Registered Nurse and may find work in a variety of healthcare settings, including in hospitals, physicians’ offices, home healthcare services, and nursing care facilities. Some nurses work in outpatient clinics, schools, or serve in the military.

What Skills Will I Develop?

As a graduate, you will have learned a range of critical duties, including how to maintain accurate reports and records, administer medications to patients and monitor reactions, record patient medical information, and monitor and track vital signs. Additionally, you will be able to coordinate with other members of the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans, modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions, and monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.

Graduates of Las Vegas College’s nursing program will receive their Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing and are prepared to take the NCLEX exam for Registered Nurses.

I had such an amazing experience at the school I attended the medical assistant program I learned so much. Absolutely loved my teachers Ms. J and Ms. G they both really care about the students learning. Both taught me so much and helped with all procedures like injections or blood draws. The school does a good job on helping with extern and making sure you feel comfortable where you are located.
